Houston Texans (+9) at Indianapolis Colts
Houston is 5-3 straight-up (SU) and 2.5 games behind Indianapolis (7-0 SU) in the AFC South. The Texans have the 3rd best passing attack in the league, but it suffered a big blow when tight end Owen Daniels was lost for the year. Houston is 3-1 SU and ATS on the road this year.
Indianapolis had a five game ATS winning streak snapped against San Francisco last week. The Colts only had 62 yards on the ground and they’ll need to improve that against Houston. The Colts could get caught looking ahead with New England coming in next Sunday night.
San Diego Chargers (+4.5) at NY Giants
San Diego (4-3 SU, 2-5 ATS) is playing its first road game at the Giants since 1995. The Chargers prefer to play in warm California and the weather looks good for Sunday at sunny in the mid 50’s. The Chargers beat Oakland and Kansas City on the road this year, but lost at Pittsburgh.
New York (5-3 SU, 4-3-1 ATS) won its first five games of the season and were 4-0-1 ATS. The last three weeks have been awful, losing by an average margin of 17 PPG. All three opponents were good (Saints, Cardinals, Eagles), but fans are expecting a big bounce-back performance here.
Dallas Cowboys (+3) at Philadelphia Eagles
Dallas and Philadelphia have both benefited from the Giants’ downfall in the NFC East. These teams are each 5-2 SU and lead the division as they head into Sunday night. Note the underdog is 7-2 ATS in the last nine meetings between the teams and Philly is 5-1 ATS in the last six.
Philadelphia’s offense has really exploded the last three home games, averaging over 35 PPG. The Cowboys have played well at home the last two weeks, outscoring Atlanta and Seattle 75-38. However, they failed to cover their last two road games at Kansas City and Denver. They must be ready for Philly’s ‘A’ game this week.
Pittsburgh Steelers (-3) at Denver Broncos - MNF
Pittsburgh (5-2 SU, 2-5 ATS) is coming off a bye-week with its last game a home win over Minnesota. The Steelers are 0-3 ATS on the road, and even lost straight-up at Chicago and Cincinnati. This will be an equally tough game.
Denver (6-1 SU, 6-1 ATS) suffered its first loss of the season last week at Baltimore, 30-7. The game was closer than the score indicates, but Denver did have a woeful offensive effort. Now, the Broncos return home for Monday Night Football and they’re a perfect 3-0 SU and ATS at Mile High with wins over Cleveland, Dallas and New England.
