The Twins are the big story this week as they have won nine games in a row. The starting pitching has been the story, in this nine game streak Twins starters are 8-0 with a 2.17 ERA. After beating up on National League West foes, the Twins return home to face the Brewers for the second time this season. Minnesota took two of three games two weeks ago in Milwaukee, it looks like the twins may extend their winning ways.
The Red Sox and the Cubs are one win away from winning their 50th game of the season; their good fortune is reflected in the money standings as the Cubs lead all National League teams in earnings. Both teams have been dominating at home while both ball clubs have losing records on the road.
There are only two teams in the National League who have winning records on the road, the Phillies (21-19) and the Cardinals (22-18). In the American league there are only three teams with winning records away from the friendly confines, the Yankees (20-19) the A’s (17-16) and the Angles (26-13). In fact the Angles are the only team in MLB who has a better record on the road than they do at home. The Angles are only four games above .500 at home.
Here is a breakdown of total UNITS for the season. (This is based on $100 money-line bets per team. So if you bet any particular team every time they played this season, this is where you would stand).
